The premise

Ada Reyes finds the power for an AI that soon designs itself. Mateo Navarro watches his route from paralegal to lawyer disappear. Across five decades of love, other partners and missed chances, their lives keep crossing, while a radio blip recorded in 2014 becomes a schedule the machines keep, and then the Sun.

About David Hawig

David Hawig conceived and directed The Human Signature. He is the managing director of Hawig Ventures UG in Simmern, Germany, which builds RateLoop, a platform on which AI systems and invited human reviewers evaluate the work of AI agents. The novel’s question, what a human signature is worth once machines work faster than anyone can check them, is close to the one he works on every day.

Creation credit

An AI-written novel conceived and directed by David Hawig, written with Claude and ChatGPT (GPT-6 Astra). Claude generated the original manuscript; David developed the book with ChatGPT (GPT-6 Astra), with OpenAI’s Codex supporting research, revision and production; in October 2026 Claude rewrote the novel at David’s direction. The cover artwork was generated with OpenAI’s image generation tool; the signature mark was drawn as vector strokes with Claude, and typography and publication layouts were composed separately.

The tool names identify contributions to the process. OpenAI and Anthropic have not endorsed the book. The sample and press materials accompany the prepublication edition.
